NATIONAL COUPLES COORDINATORS CONFERENCE (NCCC) 2011

The very first KFC National Couples Coordinators Conference was successful. It was attended by more than 850 KFC member coordinators. It started Friday February 11 evening up to Sunday morning February 13, 2011.

Bro Joe Tale gave a long but meaningful talk about Christ-like families. The first session started after dinner about ‘Self Assessment and Communication”. The best part of the night was the fellowship party where everybody was dressed in “retro”. Five best “retro” attire run away with prices and some high fives and a good handshake from the appreciative crowd.

Saturday was full of activity. It started with teaching of song “TAKE THE LEAD” by Brother Jack.

The 2011 direction was presented to the group “Kids for Christ 2011 Onwards”. Presented also was the updated “KFC Mission and Vision”:
A global ministry empowered by the Holy Spirit in molding young Christ-like leaders as instruments of hope and healing of families, society, and the world.

The updated KFC Mission and Vision was further shortened into three words so it’s easy to remember:
MOLDING CHRIST-LIKE LEADERS

The new KFC structure was also presented. Highlighted with the structure were the Lead Program (Kids Leadership Formation), World Changers and School Based program.

In the afternoon, the more than 800 coordinators was divided into groups of 10 to write suggestions/thoughts and comments on the Lead Program, World Changers and School Based programs. It was the liveliest and most interactive workshop – imagine looking for your group mates in a room of more than 850 people and starting a discussion under a blaring music. We were almost  shouting to each other when we were sharing ideas to each other. It was tough but in the end, we had a fruitful sharing and discussion .

After dinner, everybody was exited as the singing and dance competition was held. Bicol won the duet and Southern Tagalog won the dance contest. Our very own Bro. Sam & Sis. Loret Caladiao who represented Central Luzon got the 3rd place in duet competition. Congratulations to them!

Before announcing the winners of dance and singing competition, Bro. Melo Villaroman gave a moving talk entitled “Be strong in the Lord”. It basically means -rather than be afraid, be strong in the Lord. His presentation evolved around Acts 16:19-38 where Paul and Silas were in prison. His talk came with an acronym “BRAVE”:

     B – Believe in faith
     R – Respond/Re-commit
     A – Armor of God
     V – Victory (expect & claim God’s victory everyday)
E – Empowered by the Holy Spirit

The 3rd day started with a recap of what we have learned in past day and half. Bro. Voltz Lizardo gave a talk about “LEAD: Molding Christ-like Leaders”. At the end of his talk, he announced a few details about the 14th IKV which will be held in Manila this year and the GDS which is intended to be a yearly activity until otherwise advised.

Quotes I like:
  • "People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care." by Bro. Joe Tale

  • "God's time is on time" by Bro. Art Malabanan who has 10 children yet continue to serve the ministry.

  • "Tithes+Service = Abundant Blessings" from a couple (sorry, I forgot the name) who sells banana cue but was able to attend the 13th IKV in Singapore in 2010.
